<\/a>Blue skies this morning!<\/p><\/div>\n
The Market is set up in temporary tents along Bd Grenelle under the Metro tracks (which run overhead) up to the Dupleix Metro stop. \u00c2\u00a0We renewed our Navigo passes for next week – naturally two individual transactions on one credit card without a chip — therefore manual and requiring the interaction of a Metro employee! \u00c2\u00a0Will the US credit card companies ever catch up?<\/p>\n
We walked from one end of the market to the other and picked out items to buy for the apartment: rotisserie chicken, potatoes, fresh carrots, fresh radishes, strawberries that smell like strawberries, basil, fresh yellow peaches, fresh pears, slivered almonds – from at least six different vendors! \u00c2\u00a0Finally, mon francais is getting better! We bought our chicken from the two brothers who break into song, their own original creation, every time someone buys a chicken! \u00c2\u00a0Definitely a lively and cheerful place!<\/p>\n
We carried everything home and stowed in in the apartment and headed to the Jewish deli in the Marais for a sandwich classic: onion bialay, corned beef, cucumbers, pickles, red pepper relish, tomatoes, etc. \u00c2\u00a0The line at the Falalfel king wove back and forth two or three times, patiently waiting for their turn to take-away. Naturally, the Marais was a busy, busy place on a Sunday afternoon with shoppers, families, strollers old and young, and folks just wanting to see and be seen.<\/p>\n

We walked with our sandwiches to Place de Vosages to sit in the shade and rest our tootsies.<\/p>\n

Then on to Tuilleries, with everyone else in Paris, to take advantage of the sunny afternoon. \u00c2\u00a0We sat outside on the terrace enjoying a large glass of Gamay and people-watching. \u00c2\u00a0We also watched a radio-controlled sailboat cruising along in the fountain. \u00c2\u00a0Technology invades tradition, even in Paris.<\/p>\n
On our way back to the apartment we noticed an usual graphic painted on the asphalt! Can it be? Yep, an electric car recharging station! \u00c2\u00a0Even, more technology advancements invade Paris.<\/p>\n
Flowers are blooming in Tuilleries - evidently purples and pink were big this year: in flowers, in decorating, and in clothing<\/p><\/div>\n
Back at the apartment, I entered this blog post while we waited for Emy and Carol to return. \u00c2\u00a0We checked out e-mail to find that Shoe and Carol did, in fact, make it home, despite work on the RER B, requiring them to transfer to a bus for part of the trip to CDG, and a delay in immigration and customs. \u00c2\u00a0Maybe we should just stay here…..<\/p>\n
Dinner in our apartment was rotisserie chicken from the market, small round potatoes, carrots and wine. \u00c2\u00a0After dinner, we treated ourselves to a piece of Nestle’s Grand Chocolate Noir, recommended by Alex. \u00c2\u00a0We liked it too! \u00c2\u00a0After dinner, every hour on the hour, we hung out our apartment windows watching the light show at the Eiffel Tower, listening to the tourists in the street below express their amazement!<\/p>\n
