We took our seats on the uncomfortable rush seated, straight-back, chairs and the concert began at 1 PM. \u00c2\u00a0It lasted about an hour and was actually a clarinet and an organ. \u00c2\u00a0Eric lebrun played the clarinet; Marie-Ange Leurent the organ. \u00c2\u00a0 Click Here to Listen<\/a> Pieces included works by Handel, Mozart, Gabriel Faure, and Rochmaninoff. \u00c2\u00a0The last piece by Mozart was actaully performed by both musicians playing the organ or, as the French say: “orgue a quatre mains.”<\/p>\n When the concert ended, we headed over to the Musee Gustave Moreau, a symbolist painter known for depicting fantasies (mythological and biblical) in a vivid and imaginative style. \u00c2\u00a0When he died in 1998, he left a collection of sketches, oils, and watercolors to the French government – as well as his townhouse. \u00c2\u00a0Unfortunately, it’s Tuesday and the museum is closed!<\/p>\n We ended up at Place de Madeleine, checking out the designer shops, the food stores \u00c2\u00a0likeHeliard and Fauchon, the truffle store, the caviar store, etc. \u00c2\u00a0One of a shops I had previously visited, a dog and cat supply or amenity store, was now a Yves de Lorme bedding store. \u00c2\u00a0Change happens!<\/p>\n FedEx in Paris has totally electric delivery trucks – check it out!<\/p>\n
