Home Sweet Home

buy Clomiphene philippines Thursday morning, March 15th, dawned in Germany with a cover of dense fog. Immediately, I became concerned about whether any flights would take off. As the morning matured, the sun burned the fog off and a bright sunny day – no coats required – took the stage.  We headed down to the mezzanine level of the AFI for coffee and an egg croissant.

buy ivermectin scabies online Show time for the flight back to BWI had been moved forward to 12:50, and, on a lark, we headed over to sign up for any space availability on the flight.  They did not have our paperwork in the computer – luckily we had a printed copy to give them – and we were approved to wait for a space available slot.

We moved over in the terminal to sit in the sun, by the time we settled in to wait (10 minutes or so since leaving the desk), we were asked: “are you waiting for the flight to Baltimore?” We replied we were and he said I can confirm you now.  He then directed us to another desk where we paid our fees, checked our bags, and received our seat assignments. Taking a chance that the fight was not full, we asked for a window and an aisle seat on the 747, hoping the middle seat would stay empty. It did!

Pat reading her iPad looks like Bruce is doing a little sightseeing!

Now we had our seats and no longer had our bags! The security check point was slated to open at 12:20 PM, but it was not yet 10:30 AM. So we headed across the street to the BX complex for another cup of coffee.  We got back to the terminal in plenty of time, lined up with the other folks headed out on this flight. Security opened late – with a young airman saying “5 more minutes – it’s not our fault!” The plane can hold 467 passengers, there are only 2 security lanes available for everyone to get through so it was a fairly slow process. Next passport control, then gate check-in and wait until the plane boards.  We finally boarded a bit late, the plane left about an hour late at 3:30 PM.

Since the plane was a 747, we had access to music and movies, as well as the video streams from the cameras aboard – one facing front, one facing down.  I retreated to my book on my iPad, “Steve Jobs” and stayed mesmerized for the 8 hour 16 minute flight home.  We landed at BWI at 1816EDT, cleared immigration and customs, and opened the door from the customs area to the terminal and the cheers and shouts of the greeters there to greet the military personnel home. There were handshakes, cheers and clapping, all around – and, even a gift bag for each soldier! To my surprise, there was a woman in a black burqua, standing behind the greeters, clapping as each soldier came through the doors. My immediate thought was that her support for our troops really showed how diverse we are!

We retrieved, actually bailed it out,  our car from the long-term lot and headed home to Richmond, arriving around 10:30 PM Richmond time. Of course, our bodies were thinking it was 3:30 in the morning and we had been up and awake for 20 hours now! Morgan was happy to see us and we were thankful she remembered us. Now, it’s time for our sleep patterns to adjust!

So that is it for this adventure! We’ll catch up with you here, at this same place, for our next trip!
