From Nice to Uzes/St Siffret

order generic Lyrica online After a quick bite at the local bakery, we loaded up the car – a feat in itself. We are six adults and six suitcases and our handbags/carry-ons – in addition to a seat not being used, but occupying premium space.   We traversed the countryside of Provence to our gite in St. Sifert with Shoe at the wheel.  Weather again was gorgeous, bright sunny skies.  The high speed road was very high speed with our  designated driver. We made great time, arriving in St Siffret and checking into our fabulous gite: 3 bedrooms, salon, tv room, dining room, kitchen,  two dens, three en-suite bathrooms, a half bath, and a rooftop terrace and a garden terrace. Even though we had seen photos, the gite surpassed our expectations. I even wondered if we could just stay here for a week and not venture out sightseeing. The trip from th etown center up the hill to the gite was a heart-thumper, narrow (barely wide enough for our super-sized car), winding alleyways up against the stone buildings – many of us had our eyes closed.

Piuí A quick trip to the Carrefours in Uzes to lay in supplies for our late lunch, evening meal, and for Sunday. First on the agends was showing Lou and Sandy how to retrieve a grocery cart: insert coin to release it from the stack; then, when finished, take it back to the stack, lock it up and your coin releases.  Voila! A French way of making sure carts are returned to the corral. We dropped 240 euros in a heartbeat. We were certainly glad we had removed one of the third rear seats in our Renault Espace, when we loaded our groceries. The seat would have taken up too much room and impeded our quantity of wine.

Back at our gite, we unloaded groceries, selected our rooms and put our suitcases away. Then we shared fresh pears, cheese, baguettes, and olives with beer/wine – all the while trying to figure out how to turn the lights on and off. We also discovered that the WiFi was not functioning – a storm had knocked it out the week before.  Once the edge of our appetite was gone, chefs Mike, Lou, and Shoe prepared dinner: rotesserie chicken, carrots, and a fresh green salad, with tomatoes that smelled like tomatoes – we were sure there was a mistake! After dinner, we adjourned for conversation rehashing the days events on the rooftop deck as the sun went down. Lovely. lovely evening.
