The Journey Continues

http://cakebysadiesmith.co.uk/wp-json/oembed/1.0/embed?url=http://cakebysadiesmith.co.uk/2018/06/01/novice-guide-decorating-cakes/ We arrived BWI Passenger Terminal yesterday at 1730 and parking in the hourly lot.  Went in to register and check the status of the flight.  There were only 30 post tentative seats on the flight and after registration were were in the number 22 slot and the second highest Cat VI applicants, long story short at the end of the first roll call the first 11 on the list used up the 30 seats, all Cat III’s.  They announced that after final checkin at 2145 they would announce if there were any unused seats from no shows, etc.  We decided to bag it for the night and head to our hotel the Presidential Inn at Andrews Air Force Base.  The Air Force Inn is very nice and compares to the AFI in Germany, you Air Force folks always got the best!

http://bridgewaterfire.com/css.php I check the 72-hour schedule this morning and only 5 more seats had opened up and at the start of roll call we were in the 43 slot with numerous 3-4 seat requests fro families return to Europe, our only regret is that many of the Cat III did not get a seat yesterday as well.

Our next try is the 1330 (roll call) flight, actually departs 1530,  on Monday, with an estimated arrival 14 hours later in Germany (Approximate 0630 AM).  There are presently 127 tentative seats on the flight and there is a mother flight at 2030 that goes throughout Turkey and we have no idea as to how that works, if we get a seat is it through to Ramstein of could we get kicked off in Turkey, I guest we will find out if that is our hop.  Always an adventure.

So today, Super Bowl Sunday, what to do?  Maybe a movies, maybe try to hook up with Jan and Bill who live in Columbia, if they are back from Arizona. (Note: Jan and Bill have not returned from Arizona, they say every time they go to make airline reservation it snows.)

In any case we get up tomorrow and head back to BWI, unfortunately there are no seats posted for the Tuesday flight and noting out of Dover.  so the potential exists for commercial air fare in our future, while our Parisian Apartment sits idle.

Diner was taken at the Fish Market in Clinton, MD, while not the best meal we ever had they did have an excellent Clam Chowder.  Turns out the owner also owned a restaurant by the same name in Richmond, which is now the home of La Gratta and a restaurant in the Fan called the Stonewalll Jackson Cafe which is now Baha Bean.  Small world!

More to follow……
