Waaf & Miaou

buy prednisone cream After sharing a coffee and meeting with Kathryn Brown, an American living in Paris, we headed over to rue de l’Opera to the dog and cat store, Waaf & Miaou, we discovered on a previous visit.  This tiny, little shop is filled with all things dog and cat. Last time, the store greeter, a little white Westie, was wearing a very cute jacket with SECURITE embroidered on the back. It was styled like a satin jacket that security staff at a concert might wear.  I decided I wanted one for Morgan, but, alas! they don’t stock it any more.

Every girl needs a bit of bling

I searched  for a suitable outfit for Morgan to wear to the FURR BALL, benefitting the Richmond SPCA in the fall, and could not believe all the clothes they had for dogs, particularly little purse dogs like the Calverts’ Gigi.  They had tiaras, necklaces, bows, clips, all sorts of little glittery things. The shopkeeper even had a white dress and veil, just in case your canine companion was getting married! Oh! La! La! I decided to forgo the temptation and didn’t even get Morgan a dress for the Furr Ball, figuring I’d make her something formal to wear, if we go. Just in case you want to check it out, Waaf & Miaou is located at 14 avenue de l’Opera, just where you exit the Pyramides metro stop.

We stopped for lunch at a cafe that features it’s original zinc bar and beautiful tiles on the wall with grand scenes from the Les Halles food market before it was torn down and moved out to Rungis. Le Cochon a l’Oreille has a new name but it is in the same surroundings at 15 rue Montmartre near the intersection of Etienne Marcel. Hot lunch is only served between noon and 3PM and no English is spoken (menu is only in French). Mike’s kind of place!

We took the bus up to Gare de l’Est to pick up our train tickets to return to Germany on March 14th to try to catch a flight home.  We had reserved and paid for them on-line and didn’t want to have to figure out how to extract them from the machine on the day of our departure.  We added more rides (it’s a new month starting at 23:59 tonight) to our Navigo pass, shopped for additions to our salad for dinner from the produce market, and otherwise just frittered away the day!
